THE PATHS OF TRANSFORMATION

Every human transformation begins with a path.

The human qualities OSE seeks to nurture cannot simply be decided upon. One does not simply choose to become more confident, more at peace, more responsible or more open. These qualities are built up gradually through the experiences we live and the way we choose to live them.

OSE does not claim to transform young people. It offers them experiences likely to foster their growth. To this end, the programme is built around three paths of transformation that form the heart of its educational project:

Rise above yourself.   Know yourself.   Open up to others.

These three verbs are neither slogans nor goals to be achieved once and for all. They describe three freely chosen paths of growth. Three invitations to become more fully oneself.

THE ESSENTIALS IN ONE MINUTE

Rising above yourself, knowing yourself, opening up to others: three paths of personal transformation offered by OSE.

At the crossroads of these three paths lies the inner transformation being sought.

RISE ABOVE YOURSELF

Rising above yourself means going beyond what feels immediately easy or comfortable.

It means agreeing to leave your comfort zone. It means facing the unknown. It means persevering through difficulties. It means discovering resources you did not know you had.

The OSE experience regularly places young people in new situations that invite them to develop this capacity.

Rising above yourself does not mean becoming someone else. It means revealing more fully what you are capable of becoming.

KNOW YOURSELF

Knowing yourself means better understanding who you are.

It means discovering your strengths and vulnerabilities. It means identifying what drives you at a deep level. It means recognising what gives meaning to your existence.

Self-knowledge does not come from reflection alone. It is often revealed through action, encounters, successes, failures and lived experience. Reflection then allows us to connect these discoveries and deepen their meaning.

OSE believes that genuine growth comes through this gradual encounter with oneself.

OPEN UP TO OTHERS

Opening up to others is not merely a natural disposition or a character trait. It is a choice. A choice to connect. A choice to listen. A choice to be open to what is different from oneself.

Some people seem naturally inclined towards others. Others less so. But in every case, genuine openness requires a conscious and freely chosen approach.

It means welcoming other cultures, other sensibilities, other ways of seeing the world. It calls us to build bridges rather than borders — to recognise in others not a threat, but a source of richness.

OSE believes that this capacity for openness is one of the essential conditions for bringing people and nations closer together.

Three Complementary Paths
Rise above yourself

AN INVITATION

OSE does not promise transformation. Transformation belongs to each individual.

But OSE offers a framework, experiences and encounters likely to foster it. This is why it invites every young person to follow these three paths:

Rise above yourself.
Know yourself.
Open up to others.

For it is often at their crossroads that the most beautiful human transformations are born.
