BECOMING A FOUNDING COMMUNITY

BEFORE BUILDING AN OSE COUNTRY, LET US BUILD A COMMUNITY.
“

A founding community always comes before a lasting organisation.

”

An OSE Country is not born from an administrative structure.

It is born from a community of women and men who decide to carry a shared purpose together.

The pioneers' first task is therefore not to set up an association, seek funding, or draft articles of association.

Their first task is to become a true founding community. To achieve this, three steps are essential.

Committing together: making OSE's foundations their own

Once the first core group of pioneers has formed, a new stage begins. The pioneers and OSE International formalise their shared intention to build a future OSE Country together. This commitment takes the form of a moral contract.

It does not yet create an OSE Country. It simply marks the official birth of a founding community, supported by OSE International.

At the same time, OSE International appoints a dedicated point of contact responsible for supporting this community throughout the founding period. Their role is neither to direct nor to control. It is to answer questions, clarify the founding texts, share their experience, connect the pioneers with the right people, and support them through to the official recognition of their OSE Country.

For the pioneers, the aim is to make OSE's spirit their own, so that they can embody it within their own culture. At the start of the adventure, this task will be carried out by OSE's founder himself. It will gradually be entrusted to other experienced leaders within the OSE community.

Preparing the first meetings

Once the founding community shares a common vision, it can begin meeting the first stakeholders in its country.

Depending on local circumstances, these may include sports officials, Rotary Clubs, schools, host families, or other partners likely to share this ambition.

At this stage, the aim is not yet to reach formal agreements.

It is about listening, presenting OSE, and building the first relationships of trust that will, when the time comes, allow the first exchanges to begin.

✦This is how an OSE Country is built, step by step.✦

Not through an accumulation of procedures, but through the quality of the women and men who choose to build a shared adventure together.

What to remember

An OSE Country is first and foremost born from a founding community.
Trust always comes before structures.
The founding texts are studied and adopted together, with the ongoing support of OSE International.
The first partners are met before the first agreements are signed.

Our Motto

a lasting organisation.”
