OSE Country: one shared jersey. One shared purpose:
to train true ambassadors.
Pierre de Coubertin did not see Olympism as an end in itself. For him, it was a means of education, built on a tripod – sport, the arts and literature – intended to build an ideal city: the Altis.
This city was to be inhabited by a true modern chivalry, in which nobility no longer depends on birth but on conduct. Anyone may belong to this human elite, provided they live out loyalty, courage, courtesy, mutual support and respect for one's rival.
This chivalry rests on eurhythmy, that harmonious blend which unites “muscle and reflection, calm and passion, ambition and modesty”.
OSE stands within this lineage.
Its purpose is not to organise international exchanges.
Its purpose is to train women and men capable of becoming the builders of the Altis of the twenty-first century.
To this end, each OSE Country operates as a club that trains ambassadors.
Each ambassador is a player on the OSE team.
Each partner sports club becomes a team within the OSE Country Club.
The founding community forms its staff.
Around it gather the whole of the local Olympic and sporting movement, schools, host families, Rotary Clubs, and all partners wishing to contribute to this educational endeavour.
They play, they learn, they grow.
Each club becomes a team within the OSE Country Club.
It organises, supports and drives the momentum.

ONE SHARED PURPOSE:
TO TRAIN TRUE AMBASSADORS
The players: they play.
The coaches: they support.
The leaders: they organise.
The educators: they pass on knowledge.
The families: they welcome.
The local Olympic and sporting movement: it embeds OSE within the country's sporting life, mobilises its organisations and contributes to training ambassadors.
The Rotary Clubs: they open doors and build international relations.
The other partners: they contribute their skills and resources.
Each has different responsibilities.
All pursue the same purpose.
The OSE Country Club does not seek to bring together a mere juxtaposition of partners. It builds a true team in service of a shared mission.
Its success is measured neither by the number of agreements signed, nor by the number of partners.
It is measured by the quality of the ambassadors it trains.
Through them, each OSE Country helps to build that universal fraternity which Pierre de Coubertin called the Altis, which the ancestral African philosophy of Ubuntu expresses through “I am because we are”, which Rotary serves through its ideal of service, and which Teilhard de Chardin saw growing alongside Humanity.
These approaches are not at odds with one another. Each, with its own history and language, illuminates the same horizon: that of a more fraternal Humanity.
OSE does not align itself with any particular philosophy. It is a meeting point where the great humanist traditions converge, complement one another and enrich each other in service of a single ambition: to train true ambassadors.

to train true ambassadors.”
