What OSE commits to being
OSE's institutional values are the guiding principles behind its governance, choices, relationships and development. They express what OSE commits to being.
OSE's institutional values give concrete shape to its governance, choices and relationships.
OSE does not simply want to state these values: it commits to living them.
Alignment is OSE's founding value: staying true to its purpose, mission and ultimate goal.
Organisations exist to serve people, not the other way round. The person always comes before the system.
OSE never asks of others what it is not ready to apply to itself. Exemplarity is the foundation of credibility.
OSE chooses to trust. Trust is the starting point of every relationship.
OSE is reliable because it first seeks to remain true to its commitments. Reliability is built day after day and is proven in what is actually lived out.
OSE refuses to turn inward. It seeks to build bridges rather than borders. Openness fosters encounters and brings peoples closer together.
OSE does not pursue its own development for its own sake. Its ambition is to contribute to the growth of young people, families, clubs and partners, and to the wider influence of our cultures.
The requirement to build an organisation capable of growing without losing its soul.
OSE knows it will need to regularly return to these values to check the consistency of its development. For organisations, like people, can lose their focus. OSE wants to avoid this, and to keep reminding itself of it.
“These values are therefore a compass. They are a reminder of what OSE commits to being today, and what it intends to remain tomorrow.”
