Rites of Passage
Throughout history, human societies have devised rites of passage to guide young people into adulthood: helping them discover their abilities, their limits, their identity, and their place in the world.
Human beings are not merely called to live. They are called to exist. To exist is to progressively become the author of one's own life rather than merely its spectator. It is about discovering who we are, what deeply inspires us, and the unique contribution we can make to others and the world.
It is this human adventure that OSE wishes to support.
Throughout history, human societies have devised rites of passage to guide young people into adulthood: helping them discover their abilities, their limits, their identity, and their place in the world.
In our contemporary societies, these rites have largely disappeared. Sport remains one of the rare spaces where young people experience events capable of profoundly transforming them.
Facing effort, failure, success, fear, trust, teamwork, adversity: sport remains a formidable school for self-discovery.
OSE was born from the conviction that certain experiences have the power to accelerate a person's maturation.
Leaving one's usual environment. Discovering another culture. Living away from one's family. Sharing daily life with a host family. Learning to manage on one's own. Facing the unknown.
These situations compel individuals to mobilize resources they sometimes did not suspect they possessed. They constitute genuine growth experiences.
Leaving one's usual environment
Discovering another culture and a new world
Adapting, sharing, living with a family, joining a club, a school
Learning to manage on one's own, taking initiative
Self-confrontation, surpassing oneself, confidence and maturity

A sportsAn experience that invites young people to take a step forward in their personal development and helps them become more themselves.
It provides the framework within which the desired transformative experience can take place. A sports season abroad can become much more than a sports or cultural exchange:
An existential experience.
OSE's mission is simple:
This mission summarizes the program's ambition.
Through each sports season spent abroad, OSE thus seeks to offer young people a modern initiatory experience capable of helping them grow, discover themselves, open up to others, and find their rightful place in the world.
